The number of women and children requesting assistance is consistently high. Each year we are unable to meet the service requests of many women and children, particularly those seeking crisis accommodation.
Donations – large or small – allow us to provide additional support and programs to more women and children than would otherwise be possible. Together, we can work to support more women and children to live safely and recover from the trauma of domestic or family violence.
DV West is a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) charity. Your donation of $2.00 and over is tax deductible in Australia. After donating, a tax receipt will be forwarded to you by email. A written tax receipt can also be sent by mail on request.

Non-monetary donations
Women and children often arrive at our services with very little. Non-monetary donations can assist women and children to rebuild their lives.
Below are some suggested items that are valuable for the women and children in our service:
- Gift vouchers (for example vouchers for shops, food, or meals)
- Baby and children items (clothing, school stationary, cots)
- Bedding and household linen, whitegoods, small furniture items
- Experience gifts (for example tickets for the movies, theatre, live entertainment, theme parks)
DV West is unable to accept used/second-hand items and unfortunately we do not have the capacity to pick up donated items
Pro-bono support and services
We always welcome the opportunity to work with businesses, organisations and individuals who are looking to support our work in practical ways. DV West is happy to discuss in-kind support such as pro-bono legal, IT or design services, subsidised hiring fees, access to facilities and sponsorship for our programs.
Examples of in-kind donations that we have received so far:
- Petre Foundation: their donation allows us to employ a fulltime specialist Domestic Violence Counsellor and set up a program to send mums and children on holidays
- Bunnings: upgraded the dog kennel and cattery facilities at one of our refuges and installed a veggie patch
- Atlassian: gifted us a team collaboration program and designed our new logo
- TwoGood: provides our refuges with fresh and nutritious meals
- Gilbert + Tobin: legal advice
- Myers: Contributes to fresh food, school lunches and other incidental needs
